 | | Beginning in December 2007, what was then the Cory Merrill Campus Coalition wrestled with a number of key questions, including what the vision and values should be for the broader campus, what the program should look like, and whether the campus should comprise grades ECE-8th grade or ECE-12th grade. At the time, the Campus referred primarily to Cory and Merrill, with the feeder pattern schools involved more at the periphery.
As the discussions continued, however, and as the implications of the decisions made for Cory and Merrill become clear to the broader community, interest grew. More and more people became involved, and at the June 12 meeting, well over 200 people helped determine that the true meaning of this campus model should include all the schools. That night, over 80% consensus was reached to support an ECE-8 campus model.
As the discussion has picked up in the fall of 2008, the main focus has moved to the ways in which all the schools involved can develop a culture of excellence, address issues of imbalanced enrollment, and work more closely together to meet the needs of all students. The pages included in this section provide the background history of previous decisions in the process.
