By joining The Civic Canopy, Kate hopes to continue the great work of building relationships and connections throughout the community. Kate works for Denver Urban Renewal Authority as a Grants Management Supervisor. After studying social work and sociology at Colorado State University, she served two years in the Peace Corps in the Philippines. She has worked for over 7 years in nonprofits in the Metro Denver area, including at the Denver Metro Fair Housing Center (DMFHC) advocating for civil rights in housing. Kate has experience working within federal and state government organizations while enforcing fair housing laws, working on policy changes to eliminate discrimination, and generating additional funding sources for organizations. Kate is well versed in federal grant management and enjoys diving into grants and budgets to ensure total compliance.
